The dictionary lists one meaning of Zing as energy, enthusiasm or liveliness. As a verb however, it can mean a critical attack; some people even use the term “zinger” to represent a negative or derogatory insult or joke. It’s amazing how one simple, fun word can be used both so positively and yet so negatively. We all have choices to make about what we do, where we go, and how we live. Embracing positivity, kindness and gratitude is always the right choice!

Positive Energy is Contagious

When you think about positive energy you might think about channeling and harnessing inner strength, feeling a state of flow, or using the force. The creation of positive energy creates more of the same energy. It is literally contagious and allows for spreading a virtuous cycle of good vibes to everyone around you.

When you are not yourself

Research suggests you are like the five people you spend the most time with. Do you surround yourself with positive people? Good folks with positive mindsets? If not, then you have 2 choices. 1) Introduce positivity, feed your environment with enthusiasm, and watch mindfulness spread to those around you or 2) find a new circle that has the same appreciation for opportunity and craves the same desire to be inspired and fulfilled. Staying spiritually stuck for the sake of others isn’t respecting yourself or your potential. Be kind to You and you will find yourself!

Be You and Live with Zing

To live with Zing means starting with the recognition of purpose. Everything, everyone, every action…has a purpose. You may not know what it is yet but recognize that you have a purpose. It might be something small and it might change over time but Purpose You Have! Seriously look in the mirror and say, “I have a purpose even if I don’t know what it is yet. I have a purpose.” Embracing this affirmation and the power of positivity will help create a new mindset and outlook on life!

Next set intentions. Another way to put it is make your actions, conversations, and thoughts purposeful. At a small level living with intention is knowing what you’re going to do when you wake up and how you’re planning to make it happen. Are you going to the grocery store? Meeting a friend for coffee? Climbing a mountain? Whatever it is you need or want to get done, make an intention to get it done with purpose and motivation.

Are you doing it with Zing?

So you have a big purpose, a small purpose, or a “just the right size for me” sized purpose. What’s your attitude while you’re pursuing it? What vibe do you give off as you go through your routines or activities? When we live with Zing our intentions may be set but our minds are open to adapting, to going with the flow, and accepting what comes at us with humility and grace. We show kindness in our actions and our words to allow the Zing mindset to leap, grow, and evolve. We move forward with excitement, enthusiasm, and positive energy.

Chasing Zing

When you’re chasing Zing you are simply looking for the good in every moment, accepting what you can and cannot control, and enjoying life experiences. You’re exemplifying optimism, kindness and gratitude and then spreading that inspiration and those vibes for others to share.

So live with purpose, set intentions, chase your Zing, and know that your positive energy is making a difference for you and your tribe.
